You became a Student Member last year; what led you to join AUTM?
I joined AUTM because it offers valuable resources and networking opportunities in the field of technology commercialization. My membership has allowed me to learn from industry experts, make connections, and stay informed on the latest trends in the field.

What did you like most about the 2024 AUTM Annual Meeting?
I enjoyed the wide range of topics covered during the sessions. It was an opportunity to deepen my understanding of technology transfer and to hear from industry leaders about the latest developments in the field.

What is something you are good at?
I’d say I’m good at balancing my personal and professional responsibilities. As a wife and mom to three children, I prioritize my family when making decisions, which helps me maintain a healthy work-life balance.

What is something you are bad at?
It’s hard for me to say “no” to helping others, even when my plate is already full. It’s something I’m working on, as I’m learning the importance of setting boundaries while still being supportive.

What do you find most rewarding, or most challenging, about working at the Tulane University Innovation Institute?
As a postdoctoral innovation fellow at the Tulane University Innovation Institute, I’m involved in technology scouting and assessing new inventions and ideas through market research and customer discovery. The most rewarding part of my job is learning about the various inventions and innovative ideas coming out of Tulane that I might not have encountered otherwise.

What is something you’re working on right now that really excites you?
I’m currently working on market research and preparing for customer discovery on a promising technology. I’m excited about its potential to turn into a successful startup.

What is at the top of your must-visit list?
I’d love to visit the Elmina Castle in Ghana. Based on my mom’s experience, it’s an emotionally impactful place, and I’d like to experience its historical significance firsthand.

Why did you want to join Tulane’s Bioinnovation PhD program?
I joined Tulane’s Bioinnovation PhD program because it offers a unique blend of translational research and entrepreneurial principles, including the opportunity to gain insight into regulatory processes through an internship at the FDA. It was the perfect fit for me as I wanted to move beyond traditional science research and pursue a career in technology commercialization.
