What problem does your company aim to solve, and why does that matter to you personally?
Research institutions hold patent portfolios with real licensing potential, but finding who's using the technology - and building the evidence to start a licensing conversation - has been too expensive and time-consuming to do at-scale. We built Stilta to change that, using agentic AI that searches across over a trillion webpages, product documentation, and corporate communications, to identify potential licensees and map evidence directly to patent claims - making it feasible to explore options without breaking the budget.
What trends or challenges in technology transfer are you most focused on addressing right now?
Most TTOs don't have the budget or headcount to run rigorous licensee identification across a full portfolio. The first wave of AI in IP focused on drafting patents faster. We're focused on the next shift: agentic AI that researches and distills infringement evidence across massive datasets. That means a licensing team can screen dozens of patents for commercial use at a price point and speed that actually works - without relying on expensive outside counsel.
Can you share an example of how your product or service has made a tangible difference for a client or partner?
A European institution had a portfolio of patented technologies but lacked the resources to systematically identify which companies were using them commercially. Hiring outside counsel for a full claim-by-claim landscape was quoted well beyond their budget. Using Stilta, they screened the portfolio in hours and received evidence of commercial use mapped to specific claim elements. That gave their licensing team a prioritized shortlist of companies to approach, and seven of those conversations are now active.
