What is your current state of mind?
My Garmin app tells me that I am not stressed. So I am only dancing with anxiety.

If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be?
I don’t believe I have a say, but if I do, I wouldn’t mind being myself all over again. I have not done many things right the first time around.

What is your favorite occupation?
Any work that channels resources to help the needy and contributes to the betterment of the community.

What is your most marked characteristic?
Contrarian in sentiment, self-opponent in rationale.

What is your most treasured possession?
I do not consider them treasures, but I would truly miss them if I no longer had time, retirement savings (obvious), and my M cars. I would also venture to suggest that my daughter is someone I treasure most, but children should never be considered a “possession.”

Which historical figure do you most identify with?
Abraham Lincoln. For his willingness to forego his own comfort for someone’s better being (my childhood aspiration was to be a teacher, and then my wish at university was to join the Peace Corps).

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Not compromising my personal beliefs and values throughout the 30 odd years working in both business and academia sectors. I thank God for helping me not be caught in trying situations that were beyond my ability to handle.

Of all the roles that you’ve held in tech transfer, what’s been the most satisfying and why?
Being able to facilitate cross-culture, interdependent partnerships, advocating the ethical standards and practice of the profession. In this regard, being the Secretary-General of the International Strategic Technology Alliance since 1997 has been most satisfying. In fact, in the last decade things have only gotten better year-after-year.
