Managing patent expenses is something all technology transfer offices face and getting reimbursed for those expenses from licensees is necessary for the financial health of the office. This session will discuss strategies that can be used during the development of a license as well as after the license is in place for ensuring licensees pay up. We will also discuss processes related to handling delinquent accounts while maintaining a good working relationship with the licensee.

We all celebrate the signing of a new agreement as a job well done but living with the terms of the deal can be a full-time job. This session will focus on how to improve both financial and non-financial agreement compliance. Strategies discussed will include implementing agreement terms that will set the licensee up for compliance success, amending licenses to better fit the needs of licensees, and implementing practices and procedures to properly address non-compliance when it occurs.
