The 2023 Canadian Region Directors’ Forum will be a half-day working session dedicated to discussing key issues for our community that can be used to raise awareness of critical opportunities and deficits with our own institutional leadership and subsequently with government.

||Discussion Topic 1: Hiring & Retention for TTOs
Hiring and training are critical components of managing a technology transfer office, especially with the changing demographics in our ecosystem. Yet many of us are using outdated job descriptions and onboarding tools. This discussion will focus on several topics related to hiring and training, including: hiring philosophy, job descriptions, salary and office structure, onboarding processes, and the potential for cross-pollination between offices. The goal will be to review how these are changing and what ways we can share best practices and infrastructure.

||Discussion Topic 2: Advocacy & Awareness
Participate in a facilitated group discussion to identify and collectively craft shared advocacy messages for technology transfer offices to gain resources and/or support for our mission.

Registrants must hold a director level position at a Canadian Institution in order to register for the Directors' Forum. Additional fee and registration required.
