Kentucky Commercialization Ventures
Kayla currently serves as a Board Member for Queer Kentucky where she helps bolster and enhance queer culture and health across the Bluegrass State.
In Kayla's role as Licensing and New Ventures Managers for Kentucky Commercialization Ventures (KCV), her primary responsibilities include outreach and education on matters related to commercialization, along with assessing, managing, and licensing intellectual property developed at KCV Partner Institutions.
Kayla obtained her undergraduate Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s in Engineering (MEng) in Bioengineering, with honors, from the University of Louisville. Before joining the KCV team, Kayla spent over 4 years working in academia-driven commercialization and technology transfer at the University of Louisville. Additionally, Kayla has experience in startups and business development where she’s spent the last year working on contract for OrgVitals. OrgVitals is a Kentucky based startup that makes culture management software.
Kayla finds great joy in working with inventors and entrepreneurs to help them push their ideas and inventions to the next level. She is highly motivated by this opportunity to build a sustainable commercialization-drive network for the success of Kentucky and our greater region. In her free time, you may find Kayla playing soccer, listening to podcasts, or trying a new recipe.
