Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve put together answers to help with the most commonly asked questions for the AUTM Licensing Activity Survey.

Each institution on our contact list was emailed a unique link to the survey. If you're responsible for responding to the survey for your institution but do not have a link to the survey, contact Paul Stark, AUTM Marketing & Communications Director at pstark@autm.net or +1-202-960-1788.
If you've already submitted your survey, but now want to add, delete or edit your responses, contact Paul Stark, AUTM Marketing & Communications Director at pstark@autm.net or +1-202-960-1788 before April 30.

Please participate if you can. Without your data, the picture of our industry is not complete. The data you provide helps tell the story of the impact of our profession.

We encourage you to answer all the questions. If you're unable to respond to all the questions, please add your data to these key metrics:

  • (Q3.1) What were your TOTAL RESEARCH EXPENDITURES?
  • (Q4.1) How many TOTAL LICENSES did your institution execute?
  • (Q4.2) How many TOTAL OPTIONS did your institution execute?
  • (Q5.4) What was the TOTAL LICENSE INCOME received at your institution?
  • (Q7.1) How many DISCLOSURES were received?
  • (Q7.4) How many NEW PATENT APPLICATIONS were filed?
  • (Q8.1) How many STARTUPS were formed that were dependent upon the licensing of your institution's technology for their initiation?

 

Changes to FY2019 data can be made in the STATT Database. If your institution wants to add, delete or edit FY2019 data, contact Paul Stark, AUTM Marketing & Communications Director at pstark@autm.net or +1-202-960-1788.
If your institution participated in the survey, go the the STATT Database webpage. Click the orange button Log Into STATT. You should see the complimentary surveys listed on that webpage and available for download.
