Frequently Asked Questions We’ve put together answers to help with the most commonly asked questions for the AUTM Licensing Activity Survey. How do I get the FY2024 survey link for my institution? Each institution on our contact list was emailed a unique link to the survey. If you're responsible for responding to the survey for your institution but do not have a link to the survey, contact Katie Ventrice, AUTM Administrative & Membership Associate, at kventrice@autm.net or +1-202-960-1800. Our institution submitted our FY2024 survey. Can we still make changes to our responses? If you've already submitted your survey, but now want to add, delete or edit your responses, contact Katie Ventrice, AUTM Administrative & Membership Associate, at kventrice@autm.net or +1-202-960-1800 before March 28. Our office may not be able to answer all the survey questions. Should we still respond to the survey? Please participate if you can. Without your data, the picture of our industry is not complete. The data you provide helps tell the story of the impact of our profession. If you're unable to respond to all the questions, please add your data to these key metrics: (Q3.1) What were your TOTAL RESEARCH EXPENDITURES? (Q4.1) How many DISCLOSURES were received? (Q4.6) How many NEW PATENT APPLICATIONS were filed? (Q4.13) How many US PATENTS ISSUED in 2024? (Q5.1) How many TOTAL LICENSES did your institution execute? (Q5.3) How many TOTAL OPTIONS did your institution execute? (Q6.4) What was the TOTAL LICENSE INCOME received at your institution? (Q6.5) How much of the license income received was attributed to RUNNING ROYALTIES (Q8.1) How many STARTUPS were formed that were dependent upon the licensing of your institution's technology for their initiation? While completing the FY2024 survey, our institution noticed our FY2023 data needs to be updated. How do we update FY2023 data? Changes to FY2023 data can be made in the STATT Database. If your institution wants to add, delete or edit FY2023 data, contact Katie Ventrice, AUTM Administrative & Membership Associate, at kventrice@autm.net or +1-202-960-1800 before March 28. When the FY2024 data is published in June 2025, if your institution participates in the FY2024 Licensing Survey, then anyone at your institution receives free access to both the US and Canadian reports, plus free access for one year to the STATT Database, which includes 30+ years of searchable Licensing Survey data.
