Director's Forum

Directors' Forum Agenda

The 2022 Canadian Region Directors’ Forum will be a half-day working session dedicated to discussing key issues for our community that can be used to raise awareness of critical opportunities and deficits with our own institutional leadership and subsequently with government.

*Tentative schedule, program subject to change

Monday, May 16

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Lunch
1:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m  Welcome and Objectives
1:15 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. Discussion 1: Finding, Keeping and Nurturing Staff in the Post-Pandemic Era
Staffing has always been a challenge within our offices. Post-pandemic, the combination of remote working opportunities and having an employee market has brought both challenges and opportunities. Participants will share problems and solutions that they have found work for their situations. Can we identify initiatives that can span across institutions that can help with training and retention of staff?
2:15 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. Break
2:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Discussion 2: Mandates, Metrics, Impacts and Communication
Communicating the value of what we do is difficult without data but the historically collected metrics may no longer fully reflect the breadth of activities, mandates and missions TTOs have. Can we identify additional standardized metrics that reflect our expanded priorities and missions that could be adopted nationally? Participants will exchange and brainstorm on strategies to align and communicate their metrics and mandates. This session will include an overview of Atlantic Canada’s experience and efforts in aligning mandate, metrics and communication.
4:30 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.  Wrap-up
