The AUTM 2020 Annual Meeting Is CANCELLED
(Issued March 5, 2020)
It is with heavy hearts that AUTM leadership and the Board of Directors have decided to cancel the 2020 AUTM Annual Meeting scheduled to begin Sunday in San Diego.
From the beginning, we based our decision to hold our flagship event on advice from local and national health officials (including the CDC) and whether we could provide the high-quality content our Members and attendees expect.
While yesterday we had virtually all of our sessions confirmed, California’s declaration of a State of Emergency, and the work travel restrictions that have followed, have made it difficult to proceed with a quality program.
We realize that many are disappointed – among them the 2020 Annual Meeting Program Committee, led by Hassan Naqvi and Anna Solowiej, 300+ panelists, and staff that have been working for a year to bring you the best Annual Meeting ever. But it is the right decision.
We hope you will be patient as we process the 2,100+ attendee Meeting refund options from what was to be the biggest AUTM Annual Meeting in our history. Please wait for the AUTM staff to be in touch with you. In the meantime, do please take steps to cancel your hotel reservations as there is a 72-hour cancellation policy at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego.
It is the invaluable support and enthusiasm of our Members that have grown our Annual Meeting. Given the size of this event, we book our conferences three to five years in advance, so unfortunately we do not have the luxury of rescheduling.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with us at [email protected].
Please mark your calendars for our 2021 Annual Meeting in Seattle, March 14-17, and we look forward to seeing you there, if not before.
The Manchester Grand Hyatt has asked us to share this statement:
To cancel your hotel accommodations at Manchester Grand Hyatt go to Hyatt.com and cancel your reservation online. Should you have additional questions, email the request to [email protected]. Cancellation of any guaranteed room reservation must be received by the hotel at least 72 hours prior to arrival to recover your deposit and avoid any additional charges or penalties assessed by the hotel for guest no-show.
