AUTM Celebrates a Year of Success and Looks Forward to 2023

This year we are getting nostalgic as we count down AUTM’s top 10 successes in 2022!

Ten – The AUTM Foundation welcomed 20 Fellows to its 2022 Cohort. The Fellows program provides early career professionals in tech transfer with formal training, networking and practical experience in this industry. https://autmfoundation.com/t3-program/

Nine – The Oncology Partnering Forum welcomed companies to discuss their oncology discovery pipeline, current scouting priorities and the process for vetting technologies. https://autm.net/events/partnering-forums/2022-information

Eight – The Better World Project continued to highlight the successes of tech transfer offices from around the world, with more than 1,000 votes (a record!). Seven – AUTM welcomed tech transfer pros back to in person events during the 2022 Annual Meeting in NOLA. Featuring networking opportunities, educational sessions and of course beignets, more than 1,400 gathered together to advance tech transfer. https://autm.net/events

Six – AUTM on the Air, the Association's all-new podcast, launched in October 2022! Welcoming guests from around the world, AUTM volunteer leader Lisa Mueller hosts weekly conversations about the impact of research commercialization and the people who make it happen. https://autm.net/about-tech-transfer/autm-on-the-air

Five – In October, AUTM co-hosted with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) an International Knowledge and Technology Transfer Leadership Summit in Geneva, Switzerland. Four – In 2022 AUTM introduced the first ever AUTM University, bringing together four of our most popular courses in one convenient location. Three – In July, AUTM hosted a Hill Event for board members and tech transfer leaders to discuss advocacy issues important to the field. Two – In a first-of-its-kind effort, the AUTM Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee unveiled an EDI Toolkit, which includes valuable reading, videos and assessments to enhance the effectiveness of EDI protocols within the technology transfer ecosystem. https://autm.net/AUTM/media/About-AUTM/Documents/AUTM-2022-EDI-Toolkit_vf.pdf

One – The historic passage of the CHIPS and Science Act was the pinnacle of tech transfer success for AUTM and its advocacy partners.
