A regular speaker on technology transfer issues, Steve has presented on Capitol Hill and internationally on topics ranging from the evolution of the technology transfer profession to start-up formation.

Before joining AUTM, Steve served as Associate Director for Commercialization at Wake Forest Innovations where he was responsible for commercializing high-impact inventions, and drafting, negotiating and executing a wide variety of licensing and start-up transactions.

Steve is a registered U.S. Patent Agent and a past Board member of multiple Wake Forest-affiliated start-ups. Steve has also led the Winston-Salem Technology Council to retain and grow local technology businesses to strengthen the economy.

In her role, Casey works to research, identify and establish collaborative relationships with AUTM's strategic partners. She holds a B.S. in Marketing and a CMP (Certified Meeting Planner) designation. Although born and raised in New Jersey, she now resides in the beautiful green mountains of Southern Vermont.

In her career, Dani managed graphics from ideation to execution across multiple platforms, including print, digital, and large format applications. She is also a freelance graphic designer who has experience in creating branding and marketing collateral for fitness, manufacturing, automotive, and food service industries. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the great outdoors and staying active.

Key programs she is involved with include the Annual Meeting, Regional Meetings, in-person training courses, live online seminar programs, and asynchronous online training programs.
 
Ashleigh’s professional development experience includes being Director of Membership and Workforce Development at the Florida Academy of Family Physicians. In this role, Ashleigh developed and executed educational programs, transitioned elections to an online platform, drove strategic initiatives to boost member acquisition and retention. She also led committees, coordinated meetings, set agendas, recorded minutes, and ensured outcomes aligned with organizational goals.

Ashleigh attended Florda State College and lives in Wilmington, North Carolina.
 

She has extensive association management experience developing and executing strategic marketing strategies that helped dozens of clients drive growth and elevate their brand presence. Meagan holds a BFA in Art History from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.

Previously, she was the Digital Media Coordinator at a Free Clinic in Clearwater. Carlie is passionate about creating engaging content that advances the greater good of society. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures around the world. 

After completing his graduate studies in accounting at the University of Kentucky, Cody began his career at a local public accounting firm with a significant portfolio of non-profit work where he eventually earned his CPA license. Cody has continued to specialize in the non-profit field for over ten years, with a strong focus on membership-based nonprofit associations over the past five years. Cody always seeks to leverage technology and innovate processes to gain efficiencies to better serve organizations and propel them forward both in and out of the financial realm. When he’s not working, Cody is often most sighted in the wild, hiking through a National Forest, or trudging up a mountainside.

Mike was recently a Member Services and Marketing Specialist at the American Epilepsy Society where he was the primary contact for all members and ensured others had working knowledge of membership programs and services. Prior to that Mike was an intern at the American Academy of Pediatrics where he prepared minutes and assisted with the executive summary reports. Mike holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership and a bachelor’s in theatre from Lewis University.

Barbara holds a degree in Psychology and Education, a Certificate in Volunteer Management, and is a Certified Volunteer Administrator (CVA).  She works in the Chicago area. 

As the former Community Engagement Specialist at ASM International, she adeptly managed a user community of 15,000 members, addressing inquiries, designing web pages, and facilitating meetings. Carrie's previous role at 'Hope for Kids' saw her coordinating fundraising efforts, maintaining donor databases, and overseeing press releases and social media marketing. With an MBA from Kent State University and a B.S. in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University, Carrie brings a unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen to her work.

Prior to joining AUTM, Chad was a Senior Accounting Manager at VUTEQ, USA Inc., an automobile manufacturing company. In this role, Chad oversaw the accounting department and managed the monthly and quarterly closings, conducted annual audits, prepared balance sheets and income statements, and created annual budgets. Prior to that, Chad was General Manager and Controller at Permit American, Inc., a company specializing in obtaining permits for truckers. In this role, Chad analyzed data metrics, increased new customer signup, processed cash flow projections, oversaw marketing budget, and ensured regulatory compliance. Chad holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Sullivan University.

Jess has over 14 years of association experience, specifically in continuing education program management.
 
 

Prior to joining AUTM, Colleen worked for membership organizations in commercial investment, accounting, real property, and tech. Colleen’s longest tenure was for the National Association of REALTORS® for more than 12 years driving excellence in education and member programs. Colleen is a Returned US Peace Corps Volunteer serving in Thailand and holds her bachelor’s and masters from the University of Notre Dame and a Certificate of Nonprofit Management from the University of Chicago. Colleen has held her CAE since 2009. Colleen resides on the northside of Chicago with her two daughters.

With more than 15 years of association experience as a Certified Association Executive, she is an expert in developing and implementing integrated marketing and communications strategies. She is an active volunteer in her community and spends her free time enjoying the outdoors with her family.

Prior to AUTM, Paul did field and corporate marketing for the tech sector. With degrees in electrical engineering and an MBA in marketing, he’s always been curious about how the latest gizmo works and makes life better for others — clearly a big fan of the Better World Project.

Prior to that, Katie was AUTM’s Administrative and Membership Associate. In this role, Katie worked with the accounting team to process financials. She also supported the board members and committees on planning, initiatives, and strategies. Katie also directed technology-based projects, addressed member needs, and established and implemented SOPs for onboarding new hires.

Katie holds a master’s degree in Learning and Teaching with Technology from the University of North Texas and a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Trinity Christian College.

Mike previously worked as Director of the University of Michigan’s DC Office for twenty years, where he was active on tech transfer and IP issues.  He chaired the AAU Task Force on Intellectual Property, IT and Tech Transfer for many years, as well as working with AUTM on advocacy issues.
 
Before his work with Michigan, Mike worked at the National Association of Broadcasters and was a legislative aid/press secretary for Rep. Harold Rogers (R-KY).  He has received numerous honors, including both AUTM’s Volunteer of the Year Award and the Bayh-Dole Award.  He is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
 

Melissa has over 20 years of experience in non-profit association management. She holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Austin College and enjoys reading, traveling, and listening to live music.

With a wealth of experience in the field, she has worked in various roles at multiple organizations indicating her adaptability and versatility. Her expertise extends to diverse administrative and nonprofit areas, including business solutions, webinar management, and annual conference support. When she isn’t working, Donvielle enjoys spending quality time with her family and close friends.

A recovering former federal employee with over 30 years' of experience across several agencies, Paul is a policy and practical expert in technology transfer from federal labs.nPrior to joining AUTM, he most recently served as the Director of the Technology Partnerships Office at the National Institute of Standards and Technology.  He also led interagency technology transfer policy issues including serving as the Co-Chair of the National Science and Technology Council Lab to Market Subcommittee, leading the Interagency Workgroup for Technology Transfer and Interagency Workgroup for Bayh-Dole, and as a past Chair of the FLC.
